Osaka could be perfectly called the gastronomic capital of Japan. After spending a few days here you probably go with a few extra kilos: there is food everywhere! Takoyaki, okonomiyaki, kitsune udon, kushikatsu ... are just some of their typical dishes, and they are all deadly. It is a super curious restaurant since here you can not only taste the takoyakis, some balls of pancake type stuffed with octopus (tako), but you are responsible for preparing it. And believe us, takoyaki's is an art (yes, if you never did, they will obviously help you). The plate of 12 takoyaki costs ¥ 640 (about € 5).

Probably one of the best restaurants to eat the gyozas, the famous Japanese dumplings. Try the meat gyozas in the pan (6 pieces for 260 ¥). There are also more dishes (soups, noodles, chicken) but the house specialty is those delicious ravioli!

Everyone knows the curries from India but did you know that there is a japanese version? It is less spicy (and nothing spicy), you definitely have to try it at least once. And what better place than Yakumido in Osaka? The dishes are tasty and prepared with love (and it shows). You can choose veal curry (¥ 600), a vegan curry (¥ 500) based on seaweed and vegetables or the dish that carries both curries (700 ¥), separated by a barrier of hehe rice. Plus: beer costs ¥ 300. Come on, with € 10 you eat and drink fancy!

Japanese cuisine is delicious, of that there is no doubt, but it is true that for Western stomachs, a hamburger sometimes tastes like glory. If you walk around Osaka and have a monkey, write this name: Critters Burguer. Here you can zamparte one of the best burgers in Osaka. Tip: ask for the wagyu burguer, is the most expensive but also the richest (¥ 1,400).

We already told you that one of the things you have to do in Osaka is to eat kushikatsu (some fried skewers of vegetables / meat / fish) in the Shinsekai neighborhood ... And this restaurant is one of the best places to do it. It is not too cheap: each skewer costs between € 1 and € 2 (try pumpkin, sweet potato, cheese, chicken and shrimp). The medium beer costs almost € 4. A good option is to order the 1,200 ¥ kombo that includes these kushikatsu: veal, quail egg, shrimp, asparagus, chicken, salsicha, fish and cheese salsicha, pork.
